At Kaleidoscope Art Therapy, located in Calgary, I am committed to providing you and your loved ones with exceptional care in a compassionate and friendly atmosphere. I believe that you deserve consideration and respect, and make every effort to make sure everyone feels welcome and at ease.

I offer a person-centred approach to art therapy utilizing positive art therapy for both individuals and groups

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, I gratefully acknowledge with respect the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, on whose land I live and work. This includes the territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Siksika, the Kainai, the Piikani, the Tsuut’ina, and the Iyaxe Stoney Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 and all people who make their homes in this Treaty 7 region of Alberta.

Dorothy Mackintosh

Founder & Art Therapist

I am a professional clinical art therapist, mixed media artist, and mother of three grown children. I have lived internationally and bring a diverse cultural perspective. I embrace the ideals of empowerment, empathy and compassion within my practice.

I did my art therapy training at the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute in Nelson, BC, have a background in nursing, education in social science, and over 30 years of experience as a volunteer working with children, adolescents and adults. This, coupled with my personal experience of cancer has given me a strong foundation in therapeutic healing.
